Mormon history research material of Leonard J. Arrington, 1839-1999.

Includes both primary documents and secondary material. The primary documents include the minutes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) Church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Brigham Young's letterbooks, sermons, and diaries; and diaries, memoirs, and family histories from LDS leaders, including Heber C. Kimball, Willard Richards, Edward Partridge, Hyrum S. Woolley, Roland R. Woolley, Rudger Clawson, John Taylor, John Afost; also some correspondence, including that of Ezra Strong and Chloe Hess. The secondary material consists of extensive research files on a variety of topics. A large part of this material is biographies of LDS Church Presidents and other Mormons including Joseph Smith; files on authors who wrote about Mormonism; and articles, books, and dissertations on Mormonism; and an extensive newspaper collection of clippings on the LDS Church from the 1940s to 1997. Also includes material on the LDS Church and African Americans, the Equal Rights Amendment and Mormons in the 1970s, and research on the Mormon Church's business enterprises.
